Plumbing System Dos & Don'ts, tip 1by Great American Plumbing on 09/04/19
The plumbing system in your home is usually taken for granted, and yet, it is a vital part of your home that should be cared for properly. The system supplies clean water to your home and also removes waste in your system, (almost like the insides of your body). Mistreating your system can cause damage to it. The next few upcoming blog posts will contain the dos & don’ts (mostly don’ts) to properly maintain/treat your system.
So here is the first tip, and probably most commonly known, but we still find in systems.
Avoid putting things that do not belong down the drains. Throwing trash (ex. Paper, plastic, sanitary napkins, etc.) down the drains can cause the system to clog, sewer system to back up into your home, cause garbage disposals to jam or burnout. Place trash where it belongs, in the garbage can. This will help prevent drain blockage.
